Summary

A homeowner in North Caldwell called us when their generator kept shutting down unexpectedly. The unit would sometimes run normally, then fault out. When we arrived, the Evolution controller was showing Error 1300 - Low Oil Pressure. Intermittent faults like this are especially risky because the generator can seem fine during a test and then fail during a real outage.

The Work

Performed a full preventive maintenance service
Inspected the oil level and wiring to rule out an actual oil pressure problem
Found that the oil pressure switch was failing intermittently
Replaced the existing Honeywell oil pressure switch with a genuine Generac part (0L2917C)
Cleared the fault history on the controller

The Outcome

The generator now starts, accepts load, and runs normally, with no recurring faults. The homeowner can count on their backup power to stay on through an outage instead of shutting down when it matters most.
